iD Studio Architects, is a Brussels-based partnership that has been in existence for 25 years, directed by Stephan Stouffs.
Architecture is a bespoke art where good design should be tailor-made to suit the demands of context, brief and budget. Not being preoccupied with "style", we seek an aesthetic which is a response to the particular project, aiming to combine a design-orientated approach with an appreciation of craftsmanship and materials. Beyond new construction, we have built up an expertise in sensitive renovation work, working within an existing context, respecting the original building whilst accommodating the evolving requirements of clients. There is a full awareness of environmental issues within the practice, not only in terms of construction (passive, low-energy, low-carbon-footprint), but also as an integral part of internal office policy, promoting mobility by low-carbon means. Using current computer technology we can provide a fully integrated service from feasibility study and initial design through to completion, encompassing project management, financial control and project planning. We also offer a broad base of experience in related fields such as Interior Design and Furniture Design. In addition, the environment is of great concern to us. Therefore we aim to apply environmentally-friendly techniques and materials.
